My Story
From Lost in the System to Living in Alignment
I neither felt seen nor heard.
I was lost in the medical system, much like a pinball in a machine, bounced from one doctor to another without answers. Every test came back “normal,” yet my body screamed that something was wrong.
When I was finally told, “It’s all in your head,” I felt invisible. The not-knowing, the uncertainty, and the pain stirred deep fear and anxiety.
But as I later discovered: when we take charge of our own wellbeing, the universe quietly reorganizes to support our heartfelt wish.
First, The Collapse
It began around my birthday in November 2011, a couple of years after some disruptions in my marriage. I was having coffee with a colleague when I suddenly noticed I couldn’t track his movements or adjust to the sunlight behind him. Then came the fainting, the racing heartbeat, the gut issues, and the weakness.
I went from doctor to doctor, blood tests, scans, scopes, all negative. But my symptoms worsened. My sleep was disturbed, stress was constant, and I felt homeless in the medical system.
After years, I finally received a diagnosis: IBS. That felt like a fancy description of my symptoms rather than a real diagnosis.
The prescriptions followed, all beginning with Anti- — antibiotics, antiparasitics, antispasmodics, antianxiety… It felt like I was waging war against my own body, trying to fight my way back to my old, worry-free self.
Then one evening, as I walked home from my daily stroll, it felt as if a bomb exploded inside my belly. From that day forward, I couldn’t tolerate any food except two: bottle gourd and buckwheat. Thank goodness!
My world collapsed.
Unable to work, socialize, travel, or live normally, I spiraled into fear and sadness. My body was in pain; my spirit was breaking. Taking disability leave felt like defeat. My own family shattered…
There was nowhere left to turn.
Then, The Pivot
That’s when I turned inward.
Mindfulness was no longer a practice, it became my survival. I stopped fighting the body I had been at war with and began listening to it.
One afternoon, while meditating after lunch, the abdominal pain surged violently. It felt like a tsunami, but I stayed — watching, breathing, witnessing. The pain became unbearable until, for a brief moment, I felt myself dissolve.
There was no body, no pain — only vast dark space and light without color.
And then, a voice:
“What is the first thing you would do if you woke up tomorrow and all your problems went away?”
Without thinking, I answered:
“I would help and guide people like me to healing and wellness.”
Then — what felt like a long silence.
And with it, I returned to my body, my pain, and my promise.
That moment became a threshold — between suffering and purpose, between survival and service, between living and dying.
Lastly, The Return
Healing wasn’t quick. It was a long journey — and not a straight one. It took me around the world and back to where I started.
Yoga, meditation, breathwork, natural foods, sunlight, and deep connection with nature slowly rebuilt me. It took a lot of love, learning, persistence, and patience. Most of all it wouldn’t have been possible without a lot of grace. Each element stitched me back together — not into who I was, but into who I was meant to become.
I regained about 90-95% of my health. Perhaps the remaining 5-10% lingers as a sacred reminder of the promise I made — to guide others in their own journey.
Life before and after illness isn’t the same. It’s not meant to be.
Because transformation changes you in ways that make going back impossible.
Why I Coach
If you’re navigating pain, burnout, fear, or loss — you’re not alone.
I’ve been there. My loved ones have been there. And I know what it’s like to wake up every day wondering where the real “you” went.
Coaching doesn’t fix you, because you’re not broken.
What it does is help you remember your wholeness.
It gives you tools to:
Cope with pain, fear, and uncertainty.
Reconnect with your body and its wisdom.
Discover your unchanging self, your strengths, and your values.
Move from conflict to collaboration between mind, body, and spirit.
Build awareness, clarity, and confidence to take the next right step.
And that’s how healing happens — one step at a time, until your own light begins to shine and the fog lifts.
The Journey Forward
Healing is never linear. There are fits and starts, progress and setbacks. But when you learn to meet life with perseverance, curiosity and compassion, even the hardest moments become teachers.
Will life ever be the same?
No.
It will be better, more aligned, more attuned, more service-oriented.
Each day, each season, each year will be unique as a snowflake.
And you begin to see it all as beautiful.
Living in Alignment
An experience like this wakes you up from sleepwalking through life. It shows you your real friends. It shows how interconnected and interdependent you are on the whole. It opens you up to a new level of empathy and intuition. It brings you to gratitude and compassion, for self and others. It brings you to alignment with yourself, your values, strengths, and the flow of life.
You won’t fear death. You’ll only fear not having lived a joyful and meaningful life when you arrive at the threshold!
